These days, you can find and buy popular weight loss pills with just a few taps on your phone. But how much do you know about these weight loss pills?
Do you know if they actually work or if their popularity is due to good advertising?
One way you can guarantee to buy an effective pill is by picking one with the right ingredients.
These are ingredients that have been clinically proven to work.
They have helped millions of men and women get lean, slim, and healthy.
Some of these can help suppress your appetite while others improve your metabolism. There are also some that do both while activating thermogenesis.
Further, some of these ingredients also come with other health benefits that make them great choices.
That said, you should read this list and only consider products with these ingredients.
Before I tell you which weight loss ingredients work, there’s one thing you should understand.
To achieve weight loss, you will need to work out, exercise regularly. You will also need to improve your diet (if you haven’t done so yet) and maintain it.
The reason for this advice is because many ‘reviewers’ that write articles online for these products are actually product ‘promoters.’
This means that they make money from convincing you to buy their stuff.
So, remember that your diet and exercise play a vital role in your weight loss. The pills and powders that include the mentioned ingredients are weight loss ‘aids.’
They effectively work only if you do your part with a healthy diet and exercise routine.
Now that we have got that out of the way, let’s look at four weight loss ingredients that work:
1: Caffeine
Caffeine is the number one weight loss ingredient that has proven itself to work.
This ingredient is widely used as a weight-loss ingredient in most dietary supplements.
It’s usually derived from coffee beans and helps by inhibiting PDE enzymes. It also increases metabolism and boosts body temp with thermogenesis.
Clinical Studies On Caffeine:
A 2005 study [1] published in Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry discussed Caffeine and its effects on body fat and lipid metabolism.
It was found that 5 mg/kg of Caffeine intake activated lipolysis via catecholamines, reducing body fat.
Another 2005 study [2] in the Scandinavian Journal of Medicine & Science in Sports described its effects on the rate of perceived exertion.
This study found that caffeine reduced RPE by 5.6% during exercise and 11.2% post-exercise. It also found this ingredient improved exercise performance by 11.2%.

As with most stimulants, caffeine is best taken before your workout. The boost in metabolism is the main reason people like this ingredient.
And if you pick a random weight loss pill, there’s a good chance of it containing caffeine.
2: Yohimbine
Yohimbine is a weight loss ingredient that works, even if it’s better known for its sexual health benefits.
This ingredient is known to increase blood flow and cause vasodilation, one of the reasons for improved sexual health.
It also increases energy levels and fat burn by acting as an alpha-2 adrenergic antagonist. Yohimbine also helps suppress appetite while activating fat burn.
Clinical Studies On Yohimbine:
A 2006 publication [3] in Research in Sports Medicine studied the effects of Yohimbine on exercise performance and body composition.
This human study found no effect on physical performance but accelerated fat loss.
It’s surmised that this is possible because the ingredient acted as an alpha-2 adrenergic inhibitor. This elevates adrenaline levels helped boost fat burn.
A 2002 study [4] in Medical Hypotheses examined the fat loss effects of Yohimbine.
It was concluded that it reduces the respiratory quotient when exercising, resulting in fat loss. This is due to the reduced lipoprotein lipase activity of the visceral adipocytes.
A 1988 publication [5] in European Journal Of Clinical Investigation on the lipid mobilizing effects of Yohimbine.
The result of this study found that this ingredient increases adrenaline-induced weight loss. It also causes vasodilation, improving blood flow to the muscles.

Anyone taking Yohimbine should know that it works best when taken before workouts. It activates metabolism and lipolysis, resulting in satisfactory weight loss.
As a stimulant, anyone who is sensitive to similar stimulants like caffeine should be careful with this one.
3: Capsaicin
Capsicum and certain peppers contain Capsaicin, a favorite weight loss ingredient.
Capsaicin is a capsaicinoid that gives peppers their spicy taste and flavor. It increases metabolism and aids in weight loss.
Clinical Studies On Capsicum:
A 2013 study [6] published in PLOS One on the effects of capsaicin on energy and fat burn.
This study found that consuming 2.56 mg of capsaicin increased energy consumption by 20.5%.
A 1995 publication [7] in the Journal Of Nutritional Science And Vitaminology researched the effects of red-pepper on metabolism.
The researchers concluded that beta-adrenergic stimulation by the red-peppers increases energy expenditure.

The spiciness of capsaicin powder can cause digestive discomfort.
So, I suggest you avoid powders with this ingredient. Instead, opt for the pills instead.
Some proprietary formulas for capsaicin also have a delayed-release mechanism, preventing GI issues.
You should get supplements with Capsaicin if you want an accelerated metabolism for improved weight loss.
4: Raspberry Ketone
The final weight loss ingredient on our list is Raspberry Ketone.
Raspberry ketone supplements claim to put your body into the state of Ketosis.
Unfortunately, nothing can be further from the truth for most of these products.
This ingredient works similarly to Capsaicin in its weight loss effects. It accelerates fat burn and metabolism.
Clinical Studies On Raspberry Ketone:
A 2005 publication [8] in Life Sciences discussed Raspberry ketone’s function at reducing obesity.
This study concluded that this ingredient increases norepinephrine-induced lipolysis in white adipocytes.
This means that it activates the body’s fight-or-flight response, triggering accelerated weight loss.
A 2010 study [9] on Planta Medica also mentioned the effects of Raspberry Ketone on fat burn and oxidation.
Here, the 3T3-L1 adipocyte cells enhanced fat metabolism.
Should You Get Weight Loss Supplements With Raspberry Ketone?
Other than the misconception about Lipolysis, this is a solid weight loss ingredient that works.
It is great for those who want to lose weight by burning it off with regular exercise. The pills are also easier on the body when compared to the spicy Capsaicin powders.
But naturally extracted Raspberry Ketones is too expensive. So, most Raspberry Ketone supplements contain artificially produced Raspberry Ketone.
While safe, they are not for those who want all-natural products.
A Final Word On These Weight Loss Ingredients:
In this article, I have introduced four weight loss ingredients that work.
I selected them for their strong independent research studies. So, you don’t just have to take my word for it.
Remember that while there are many products with these ingredients, their blends and concentrations may defer.
This can lead to different results, even when comparing two supplements with the same ingredients.
